Free domain check

Can someone send an email pretending to be you?

Enter your work email. We run a full check on the public records that decide two things: whether anyone can send email as you, and whether your own email is trusted everywhere it lands. Every result in plain English and in full technical detail. Free, no signup.

Takes about five seconds. We only read public DNS records, nothing private.

Want the fix sent to you?

We will put together a short write-up showing exactly what to change and where, specific to your setup, and send it over. No charge.

We will also show you a time to talk it through if you want help doing it. No obligation.

What we check

Your domain publishes a set of public records that tell the rest of the internet how your email should be treated. Most small companies have never had them reviewed, and the failures are invisible from the inside: your mail keeps sending, so nothing looks wrong.

DMARC
Is impersonation actually blocked
The rule can be missing, set to watch without blocking, or applied to only a share of messages. Watch-only is the one almost everyone assumes is finished when it is not.
SPF
Is your sender list valid
We count the DNS lookups your record needs. Go over ten and the whole record silently stops working, with no warning to anyone. Two records published at once breaks it outright.
DKIM
Is your mail signed
A signature proves a message really came from you and was not altered on the way. We probe the selectors the common mail platforms use.
Subdomains
The gap behind a pass
A domain can be locked down while every subdomain stays wide open. It reads as protected and is not, which is why this one is worth checking separately.

Also checked

Two more records that are worth fixing but are not about impersonation, so they come after the four above rather than competing with them.

MTA-STS
Is incoming mail encrypted
Without it, mail on its way to you can be quietly downgraded to plain text and read in transit.
DNSSEC
Can your DNS be forged
Signed DNS answers cannot be tampered with between the lookup and the answer. Unsigned ones can.
